Sandy Marshall is a producer, writer, actor, and strategic communications leader working at the intersection of space, entertainment, and business.
Space & Science Communication: At NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Sandy leads strategic communications across a portfolio spanning Moon to Mars, the Deep Space Network, NASA+ West Coast efforts, and entertainment & partnership activations: translating humanity's most complex science into resonant stories. He co-created and executive produced REACH: A Space Podcast for Kids (ranked among Apple Podcasts’ top shows).
Entertainment & Performance: Sandy is also an actor, executive producer, and director. An Emmy nominee and SAG-AFTRA member, his film & television credits include The Dilemma (Ron Howard), Odd Squad (PBS), Still Hungry (Comedy Central), and national commercial campaigns. He was a Director and Faculty Member at The Second City, the world's foremost improvisational comedy theater, and co-founded the comedy ensemble Schadenfreude.
Leadership, Consulting, & Board Service: Formerly Vice President at Second City Works, Sandy has advised Fortune 500 companies (including Morgan Stanley, GE, PwC, AbbVie, RBC, and Verizon) on leadership, enterprise communication, digital content, and creative production. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Cosmosphere International Science Center and Space Museum, and is a two-time recipient of JPL's Voyager Award. He previously served on the Board of Trustees at Drake University, where he earned a B.A. in History.
Writing & Media: Sandy wrote Workish, a syndicated business column for the Financial Post, and co-founded the business event series Ensemble. Media appearances include Fast Company, Axios, and CBC News. He's spoken at conferences like The Conference Board, ASTC, NXNE, and the Digital Media Summit, lectured at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (Drake University and William & Mary), and served as a longtime awards judge at the Banff World Media Festival.
